The show Friends has long been regarded as one of the best sitcoms in television history. Many of the show's millions of fans around the world secretly fantasize about being able to drink coffee at the iconic Central Perk cafe where you could often find Chandler, Joey, Ross, Phoebe, Monica, and Rachel chatting it up on that orange couch. Well, thanks to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL), fulfilling the coffee portion of that dream is a reality with their release of the Central Perk Coffee and K Cups blend.
The well-established coffee company has partnered with Warner Brothers to bring the masses the very same coffee from the show. The decision to create this blend was prompted by this year being the 25th anniversary of the show. Whether it's simply nostalgia or getting to actual taste Central Perk's renown coffee, there are plenty of reasons to check out this new blend.
Central Perk Coffee Details
CBTL's Central Perk coffee is a medium roast that comes in whole bean, ground, and K-Cups forms. I'm glad they didn't forget about Keurig K-Cup machine users. Sometimes companies release special blends only in whole bean and ground form so the inclusion of the K-Cup and coffee pod form is a welcomed surprise.
Beyond the coffee's association with Friends, their brew offers a delightful blend of beans sourced from Colombia and Brazil. Specifically, these beans were harvested from the Cerrado Region of the Western Minas Gerais State of Brazil. The other beans were sourced from small family farms in the town of Andes in Antioquisa, Colombia. There's a distinct walnut aroma marked by a notable sweet flavor and tempered by a very smooth body. According to CBTL, these coffee beans were harvested, pulped, fermented, and washed and dried to parchment on the actual farms. The dry milling, sorting and grading was completed at a mill in the Andes. We've done a full review of CBTL's Central Perk coffee soon so be sure to check it out for more details.
If you're planning to do a Friend's binge anytime soon, it'd only be fitting to be sipping on a fresh cup of Central Perk Coffee while doing so. This coffee will definitely be “There for you”…. 🙂
