The world of sweet green tea and flavored green tea can be a mixed bag. On the one hand, you have green teas that are dreadfully overly sweetened with artificial flavors and a ton of sugar. On the other hand, you have teas that leave you wondering how they could be marketed as “sweetened” in the first place. As an avid tea drinker and a fan of sweet green teas in specific, I was excited to try the “mildly sweet” teas from a company called IE Green Tea.
The company supplied me with some free samples in exchange for an honest look at how this sweet green tea from concentrate stacks up to the rest of the competition.
Before getting right into this IE Green Tea review, I'd like to say that I typically drink Chinese teas so I'm very accustomed to teas on the bitter side. Taste is such a subjective thing so I think for any review to be helpful, you'll need to know the preferences of the person writing it. Below I've also listed some of the unique qualities about this tea that separate it from other brands.

IE Green Tea Review: Taste
I tore open a small packet and poured in the green tea liquid concentrate into my glass. What I appreciated about this “no brewing no hassle” process was that I could easily control the strength of the tea based on how much water I added. Sure, you can do that when brewing tea as well, but this just felt easier and quicker.
This tea has a balanced sweetness. Compared to other teas brands that can be heavy handed with the sugar, I.E. Green Tea seemed to know just when to stop with the Stevia. You'll definitely notice the sweetness and yet it's not so strong that you feel like you can't taste the subtleties of the brewed tea leaves. It's a very pleasant taste, especially for flavored teas which isn't something I drink all that often. There's minimal bitterness. (Remember, this is coming from someone who drinks fairly bitter teas so it's all relative.) To no surprise, the Stevia delivered a natural sweetness that I really appreciated. As someone who's also been cutting down on my sugars, a sugar-free organic tea like this is a perfect addition to my lifestyle. If you preferred just unsweetened pure green tea, I suggest trying their appropriately-named “Pure Green Tea flavor” which has no Stevia.
I prepared these sweet green teas both hot and cold. While I liked the refreshing taste of the cold tea, I preferred drinking this tea hot. This has less to do with the tea itself and more to do with just my preference.
IE Green Tea comes in a variety of flavors such as lemon, peach, and raspberry. Again, it's worth repeating that I'm normally a big fan of strong flavored teas. But the way this tea was formulated just spoke to my taste buds.
IE Green Tea Review: Convenience
I've actually never had liquid-condensed tea before. Like most people, I was used to having to brew my tea. Not to sound dramatic, but this new delivery system opened up a new world for me. I can bring these small packets with me when I travel or just out and about in town. All that's needed is a cup and hot water. The idea of portable tea was foreign to me but definitely something I could get used to in my daily routine.
This is a side note, but I also appreciate the fact that with liquid condensed tea there's no need to be concerned about loose tea leaves or particles escaping into your mug.
At the end of the day, I really appreciated what IE Green Tea offers. It's a sweet green tea that's as convenient as it is flavorful. I admit I was a bit concerned at first about trying a tea that didn't require me to brew it. As a fan of bitterer tea, I was also apprehensive about the idea of flavored and sweetened green teas. Fortunately, this tea was more than I could've imagined and I'm excited to have discovered it. In summary, I think this tea is best-suited for tea lovers who prefer a strong potent tea with a naturally mild sweetness.
