Before getting right into this bone broth review, it's worth offering a brief background. I've been on the Ketogenic diet for coming up 11 months now. On a personal note, it's been one of the best experiences of my life. This article isn't meant to delve into the diet but in short, it's a low carb / high fat eating lifestyle that has tremendous health benefits from losing weight to increased mental clarity. There's a wealth of information about the keto diet which I'd recommend checking out. Anyone who's been on Keto will know the importance of getting the right amounts of protein. One excellent source of protein comes from bone broth.
What is Bone Broth
Bone broth is stock created from the bones of animals such as chicken, beef, and/or lamb. These bones are left to slow cook in the stock for up to 24 hours allowing the stock to fully absorb valuable minerals, nutrients, and of course collagen. Bone broth is incredibly healthy and has been proven to benefit joints and digestive systems.
Bone broth is also abundant in calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous.
To compare quality bone broth to the 99-cent cans of broth you find at the grocery story would be like comparing organic grass-fed filet mignon steak to beef found in low-quality TV dinners. In other words, there's just no comparison.
However, making bone broth is inherently a very time-consuming process. Quality takes time and that's very much the case here. Most people nowadays don't even have time grind their coffee much less spend an entire day creating great-tasting bone broth. Enter premium bone broth companies such as Kettle and Fire. As someone on Keto, I'd been drinking bone broth from Pacific Foods for quite some time and been quite pleased with it. It was a great way to help me meet my daily protein and fat requirements. I mention this so my readers can get an idea of my baseline standards.
Kettle and Fire Bone Broth Review
For this Kettle and Fire review, I thought it best to focus on the most basic flavors as they contain the least amount of carbs. I tried the Beef, Chicken, and Mushroom Chicken broth for this review.
Let's start with a few facts about this bone broth. Kettle and Fire Bone offers both bone broth and bone broth soup each with 7 different flavors. The soup is Keto-friendly and includes natural flavorings in addition to the bone broth itself. The unflavored broths such naturally have the lowest carb count which is a very important thing to note for those on the Keto diet. Listed below are the bone broth flavors.
- Beef (Beef broth has been upgraded to contain 40% more protein and collagen.)
- Chicken
- Tumeric Ginger
- Mushroom Chicken (uses Lion's Mane mushrooms)
- Lemongrass Ginger Pho
- Chipotle Beef
- Coconut Curry
I'm not trying to sound dramatic, but the second I tasted this broth, I knew that a whole new world had been opened up to me. There was distinct robustness and heartiness to the flavor that I'd never tasted before. Lesser quality broth will often be diluted and have the consistency of water. Fortunately, this broth delivers a rich texture that I'd been craving for the last 11-months on Keto without even knowing it. Their bone broth offers an authentic and whole food flavor that simply couldn't be replicated in a lab. Kettle and Fire has produced hands-down the best tasting bone broth I've ever tasted. Given how many different soups and broths I've tasted in my lifetime, that's saying a lot.
When something tastes real, your body and taste buds automatically know it. This is what I experienced with this bone broth. Those on Keto will know there's a difference between ‘feeling full' and be satiated. Kettle & Fire bone broth offers a very satiating experience.

One of the things I really appreciated about this broth was the purity of its ingredients. They use organic vegetables, grass-fed bones, and water. Kettle & Fire doesn't attempt to create some new concoction using artificial sweeteners and additives. It's obvious they didn't cut any corners. Instead they rely on the purity and quality of the ingredients to deliver all the naturally-occurring health benefits that mother nature intended. As a shout out to any coffee lovers out there, this approach of using only the purist ingredients to confer health benefits reminds of a coffee called Lifeboost Coffee.
Prior to going into this Kettle and Fire review, I intellectually knew that not all bone broths were created equal. But after trying Kettle & Fire's bone broth and experiencing its nourishing effects, I now know just how true that statement really is. I have no qualms with recommending Kettle and Fire bone broth as this is easily one of the best bone broth products available.
