It's that glorious time of year again: the holidays. For some it signifies a time of family gatherings, Christmas shopping, and just an overall jolly time. But for many coffee lovers, it means one thing above all else: The release of Starbucks seasonal K cups® . Below are 4 of Starbucks most popular seasonal blends that come out only once a year. For those who have never tried them, they are certainly worth the wait. Quite frankly, you can't go wrong with any of them and they're all sure to inspire extra feel good vibes during this holiday season.
Top 4 Starbucks Seasonal K cups®
Starbucks Thanksgiving Blend K Cup
In addition to family and friends, Thanksgiving also comes with food….and usually lots of it. The Starbucks Thanksgiving K Cup offers a distinctive sumatran inspired spice that's best paired with dishes that are savory and sweet. There's nothing like topping off a satisfying meal with dessert and the right type of coffee. Starbucks Thanksgiving K cups® are a full-bodied blend that in our opinion lacks in nothing striking a very hard to reach balance between strength and smoothness. When we say full-bodied, we mean that it packs a robust while deeply soothing punch that have come to typify many of Starbucks blends in general. There are some coffee drinkers that warn that this coffee is so strong it can mask the subtleties of the spicy notes. This will clearly be based on the coffee drinkers preferences as what's too strong for one may be just right for another. If you have a super sensitive coffee palette, you may want to go for lighter alternative.
Starbucks Holiday Blend 2016
Next up on the Starbucks seasonal K cups® list is the holiday blend. This richly balanced blend is a fan favorite for many reasons and you best believe our offices will be stocking up on these while we can. It's smooth and balanced yet founded upon a strong base made of Indonesian and Latin America coffee beans. With herbal and sweet maple notes, it also offers what Starbucks calls an “approachable complexity”. Each individual sip captures a wide range of flavors that rest delicately on the taste buds, something the coffee connoisseurs out there will appreciate in full. The Starbucks Holiday Blend K cup packs a stronger punch than your average medium roast coffee but that may have more to do with the brand than the blend. Starbucks is known for having a deeper and stronger coffee base than most other coffee brands. For those looking for a light roast alternative, check out the Starbucks Holiday Blonde Roast K Cup.
Starbucks Christmas Vintage 2016 Blend K Cup
The Starbucks Christmas K Cup is a truly unique blend that offers a bold but unquestionably smooth coffee drinking experience. It's made up of premium coffee beans from Latin America and Indonesia. At the foundation of this Christmas blend is a rare aged Sumatran bean that's known for the captivating flavor it acquires over time. Starbucks ages these beans around 5 years. With spicy layers balanced by a tempered sweetness, it's easy to see why the Starbucks Christmas K Cup is so sought after. Unfortunately for decaf drinkers, this blend is only offered in a caffeinated version. However, that may change in the future if the demand for it is high enough.
Starbucks Christmas Espresso Blend Whole Bean
Fortunately, Starbucks didn't forget about espresso lovers this holiday season. The Starbucks Christmas Espresso blend isn't available in K Cup form so it technically doesn't belong in this seasonal K cups® guide. However, it's such a enjoyable blend that we broke all rules of logic and included it anyway. We didn't want espresso lovers to feel left out 🙂 The Starbucks Christmas Espresso blend harmoniously combines spiciness and sweetness into a singularly bold coffee experience. It has herbal accents with an intense caramel sweetness that's sure to satisfy even the most discerning espresso drinkers. To say that this coffee is bold is an understatement. As we mentioned earlier in this guide, Starbucks is already known to have bold coffee. This seasonal espresso roast beautifully plays off this boldness without going over the top. Like it's Christmas Vintage 2016 counterpart, the Christmas Espresso blend uses rare aged Sumatra beans that result in a distinctive flavor that's all it's own. Unfortunately, this is blend isn't available in K Cup form.
At the end of the day, the biggest complaint that coffee drinkers have about these Starbucks seasonal K cups® has nothing to do with quality or flavor. It's that they're simply not available all year round. If you can't decide why one to try, consider checking out the Starbucks Holiday Collection.
