In starting off this Magni Coffee review, let's first go over a few of the notable qualities of their beans.
- USDA Organic and Non GMO
- Single Origin
- Low Acid
- Fair Trade Farming Practices
- Grown at High Altitudes
- Shade grown
- Small Batch
- Mold Free
I realize the above designations don't necessarily speak directly to the taste of the beans and whether they'll be a good fit for your particularly flavor profile. However, they certainly do reflect a level of quality and care that goes into the product's life cycle. Magni Coffee sources their coffee from several nations, with a majority of them being in Latin America. This includes Peru, Honduras, and Mexico. They only source small batches from small organic farms.
On the outside of the bag, just below the Medium Roast label, the are the words “elegant, unique, and special”. Based on my experiences with this coffee, this is a perfect description of the coffee and the company behind the bean. This single origin sustainable coffee company not only produces great coffee, but also donates a $1 to poverty in Africa with each bag sold.
Magni Coffee comes in four of the standard varieties: light roast, medium roast, dark roast and decaf. The company sent me a medium roast, whole bean bag of coffee. This particular coffee is single sourced from Peru, and like their other offerings is organically grown, freshly roasted, non-GMO, and mold-free.
Magni Coffee Review: Flavor
The flavor from this coffee is truly spectacular, and that is not an exaggeration. It offers an authentically unique coffee experience and delivers flavors that I simply haven't found in other coffees. And that's saying a lot given how many different coffees I've had the pleasure of trying over the years.
The coffee is delightfully fruity, with floral tones, and hints of chocolate. These flavors come together beautifully and create a most enjoyable coffee drinking experience worthy of any coffee connoisseur. On the website, it says that this coffee is best for French Press and so opted to brew this coffee accordingly. I grounded up the beans to a nice coarse grind and began my usual brew process. After pouring in the hot water, I let the grounds steep for about 4-5 minutes to achieve optimal extraction.
The coffee was not bitter at all and was very pleasant to my stomach and digestive process. As someone who was previously battling stomach issues, I really appreciated how smooth and low acid this coffee was. I drank this coffee on an empty stomach and had no issues whatsoever. This coffee is perfect for coffee-lovers with IBS or general stomach issues.
I cannot express how much flavor was in each sip. Some people mistakenly believe that low acid coffee means low flavor coffee. This couldn't be further from the truth and Magni Coffee is proof positive of that. The coffee kept me coming back for more and offered a deeper and more robust flavor with each sip that I took. The flavor was also complex with a variety of notes expressing themselves to varying degrees. If you're looking for a coffee that captures what the specialty-grade Third Wave coffee experience is all about, then this coffee is for you.
Magni Coffee Review: Packaging
I’m a huge fan of Magni Coffee's simple, modest, and sleek packaging. The simplicity and elegance of the packaging are a fitting reflection of the coffee itself. On a practical level, I really appreciate the fact that you can reseal the bag and save the beans for later. I often like to have a rotation of beans and this resealable bag helps me to keep the beans fresher for longer.
In closing this Magni Coffee review, it should be apparent that I thoroughly enjoyed what this coffee has to offer. It's true that not everyone is prepared to spend $28.95 on a bag of coffee. But I can say this. It's worth it. Add to this fact that there's a 50% off coupon below, you'll only be paying around $14 for genuinely transformative coffee experience.
It delivers on many levels from its low acidity to its incredibly robust and smooth flavor. I’m excited to brew this coffee using different methods to see just how it affects the overall taste. I'm also confident that given the quality of these beans, I won't be disappointed regardless of the brew method. Whether you're a coffee snob at heart or just a casual coffee drinker, I recommend giving Magni Coffee a try. You'll thank me later.
