There's a near infinite number of single serve coffee systems on the market. I've personally found that choosing the best single serve machine has less to do a list of impressive technical features and more to do with figuring out what you're specifically looking for in your coffee experience. Every machine will have its advantages and drawbacks. What matters most is the value you assign to them. Having said that, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL) has come out with a streamlined single serve coffee maker called the CBTL Lieto. Today we'll be doing a CBTL Lieto review to help you decide if this is the machine for you.
The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf single serve coffee is marketed to coffee lovers who want barista-quality espresso and coffee from the comfort of your own home. While the machine allows you to make more than just coffee tea and hot chocolate, it's actually designed to make a coffeehouse-quality espresso in impressive fashion. The ability to make such an authentic espresso is a limitation many other machines on the market have not been able to overcome. This takes the versatility of this machine to the next level. Pair this workhorse of a machine with CBTL's electric milk frother and you can make pretty much anything you can find at your local coffee shop from lattes to mochas.
For some coffee lovers, the look of a machine is really important. Many coffee machines are treated as kitchen fixtures and because of that, need to look the part. Fortunately, the CBTL Lieto passes the aesthetics test with flying colors. Its smooth and streamlined look is sleek and modern but not “too ahead of the times”. Simply put, the machine looks cool and in my opinion, would have no problem fitting into the decor of most homes. The machine is offered in 3 elegant colors: Piano Black, Orchid Purple, Sunrise Orange
Ease of Use:
No CBTL Lieto review would be complete without addressing this machines usability. The one touch technology of the CBTL Lieto is easily one of its most appealing qualities. The technology does exactly what it implies. You can produce an exquisite cup of espresso with the click of a single button. Personally, the usability is one of my favorite qualities about this machine. I get that having a slew of customization options can be desirable in the right setting. But the convenience of just clicking a button in the morning to make an espresso has always been one of life's simple pleasures for me.
The CBTL Lieto uses proprietary coffee capsules designed to specifically work with this machine. That means K-Cups Pods will not work with the CBTL Lieto. For many coffee lovers, the use of proprietary capsules can initially feel restrictive. However, CBTL offers plenty of options for high quality flavors that include Kona blends to premium Vienese coffee. The operative word here is quality. It's better to have a handful of varieties that taste great rather than a million different choices mired in mediocrity. With 17 different quality flavors to choose from, CBTL ensures that the taste buds of their customers will be very satisfied. Check out CBTL's full coffee and espresso selection.
How is the Coffee / Espresso Taste:
Sometimes in describing flavor, a coffee reviewer can use a whole lot of words. For this CBTL Lieto review, I'm going to deliberately keep it short and sweet. When CBTL says they can make a “barista-quality / coffeehouse-quality” espresso, they really mean what they say. CBTL espresso and coffee tastes excellent.
The coffee drinker that will love the CBTL Lieto, is someone who isn’t just looking to brew a cup of coffee with their single serve machine. They are looking for convenience and versatility without having to sacrifice any quality. Priced at around $120 (sale), the CBTL Lieto coffee machine brings tremendous value to the table and is a solid buy for anyone looking to make impressive espresso at home.
If you've had the pleasure of trying out this machine and would like to write a CBTL Lieto review, we'd love to hear from you.
