This coffee is hands-down the richest and most full-bodied Hemp coffee we’ve ever tried.
Unlike many of its competitors, Subduction offers a wide selection of specialty Hemp coffees ranging from the coveted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe to the globally-renown Sumatran brew. We were thoroughly impressed by their selection and more importantly, quality. Their coffee is 100% USDA organic and

Alternatives to Hemp K Cups and CBD Coffee Pods
If nothing on this list of the best CBD K Cups grabs you, consider making your own K-Cup with a reusable K-Cup adapter. The Reusable K-Cup adapter gives you the freedom to choose your favorite CBD coffee brand. You can also adjust the quantity of coffee to control the strength of your final brew. This option is efficient, flexible, and environmentally-friendly.
If you’re looking for a good ground CBD coffee to add to your reusable K-Cup adapter, we suggest going with Green Roads Coffee. We had a chance to do a Green Roads Coffee review some years ago and it quickly became one of our favorite brands.
Another way to get your dose of CBD is to add CBD oil to your coffee after you’ve brewed it. I’ve done this a number of times before. While it offers you the maximum amount of flexibility, I’m not a big fan of doing this…even though I’ve done it many times before. Reason being is that by adding CBD oil to your coffee, you often end up with a rather unappealing grassy flavor in your coffee. In many ways, I’m a coffee lover first and so I admittedly have low tolerance for coffee that tastes “off“.
Havin said this, if you still want to add CBD to your coffee there are alternative ways. I’ve used a product called Caliper CBD which is a tasteless powder that I’ve put into my coffee numerous times. It is in fact tasteless as advertised.
What is CBD?
For those unfamiliar with CBD, it’s a natural chemical compound found in the hemp plant. It’s also worth noting that CBD, unlike it’s more popular cousin called THC, does not have a psychoactive component and therefore, won’t get you high. CBD is most sought after for its numerous health benefits including anxiety reduction and joint pain relief to name but a few. What to consider when buying CBD K-cups?
1. CBD K-Cups: Quality and Potency
As just mentioned above, it’s recommended to buy CBD products from companies that lab-test their CBD. The best CBD coffee brands will make their lab results publicly available. If they’re not available online, reach out to the company and ask to see the lab results. Any company worth their weight in gold will be happy to provide them to you if they haven’t made them available already.
Additionally, choose CBD derived from Hemp plants grown in the United States. USA-grown hemp plants are subject to much higher standards and regulations than those grown in most other countries.
Also note that CBD K-Cups and Hemp Coffee pods come in a variety of strengths. They can range anywhere from 12 to 25 mg.
Fortunately, for coffee lovers, many CBD companies offer specialty-grade coffee that have exceptional flavor profiles. If you can, aim for organic and/or specialty-grade coffee.
2. CBD K-Cups: Choose your CBD
There are 3 types of CBD that are typically available: isolate, broad spectrum, and full spectrum. Don’t feel overwhelmed by these terms as we’ll break down their meaning simply.
Isolate – Isolate CBD extracts only the CBD from the Hemp Plant. Nothing else. There is zero THC which is the principle psychoactive constituent.
Broad Spectrum – Broad spectrum CBD also contains zero THC. However, unlike isolates, they contain other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids from the hemp plant. Many of these compounds have their benefits and yet there are many who only want the CBD itself hence the isolate option.
Full Spectrum – Full spectrum CBD contains the entire plant including the THC which is present in miniscule amounts. Full spectrum CBD may contain up to 0.3% of THC.
3. CBD K-Cups: Price
CBD coffee is understandably more expensive than regular coffee. The price range for CBD K-Cups varies depending on the quality and quantity of the CBD and coffee. I personally try my best to drink CBD coffee that maintains high standards for both while being as cost-effective with budget as possible. Many different factors contribute the pricing of a coffee pod.
One the CBD front, you need to note how much CBD a given coffee pod contains. It’s not just about the quantity of coffee pods. Remember, just because a coffee pod comes with more coffee doesn’t also mean it comes with more CBD. Note the number of milligrams a given CBD coffee pod contains.
If you’re new to the world of CBD K Cups I suggest you try different brands to determine just how much CBD is right for you.
Without getting too complicated, you’ll also want to check out a variable known as bioavailability. This is a metric that measures the efficacy of absorption. Certain CBD coffee pods are formulated for high absorption so you can get the most out of the experience.
Be sure to carefully read the labeling so that you can make the most informed decision possible.
4. CBD K-Cups: Choose Your Roast
Just your favorite CBD coffee brand is the same as choosing your favorite regular coffee brand. Be sure to identify your roast preference.
Light roasts will typically allow most of a coffee bean’s natural flavors to express themselves. You’ll be able to detect the subtle flavor notes with greater ease when drinking a light roast CBD coffee as opposed to a dark. Light roasts will usually have a more complex flavor profile than it’s darker counterparts.
Medium roasts offer a nice balance between the bean’s natural flavors and a refined smokiness that comes from the beans’ extended exposure to hot temperatures.
Dark roasts will be the boldest and smokiest of all the roasts. A dark roasted CBD coffee will also result in the fullest-body. With dark roasts, most of the bean’s naturally flavorings will have been roasted out.
Editor’s Note: I personally think medium roasts taste the best when it comes to CBD coffee. I like the strength of a dark roast but also the flavor notes of a light roast. A medium roast, as its designation suggests, offers a perfect balance of the two.
5. Consider how much caffeine is in your CBD K Cup
The amount of caffeine in a CBD K-Cup will vary depending on the type of coffee used in the blend and the strength of the roast. Generally, the amount of caffeine in a single serving of coffee ranges from about 95-200 mg. It’s recommended that you consumer no more than 400mg of caffeine per day.
CBD K Cups and Hemp Coffee Pods: Final Thoughts
As is the case with all coffee, not all brews are created equal. This fact is even more apparent within the CBD K Cup industry where any wise consumer should consider both the quality of the CBD and coffee itself. Whether you’re thinking about taking a dive into the world of CBD coffee or are looking for more cost-effective CBD coffee options, we hope this article will help you get the most out of your CBD coffee experience.
